Leave the supressor off, only 2 dash lights , oil light and charge light, check the bulbs and connections on the dash
I have charge light, oil light I don't see I guess it is only for warnings. Charge light comes on with ignition. So there is no instrument illumination then? I bet there is already a thread on this isn't there.
If the headlight knob goes round and round someone may have atempted to remove the knob without holding the shaft. That can knacker the dimmer completely, I did it to my first bus.
Booked MOT for tomorrow. Last time i drove a van to MOT it broke down and rocker shaft fell off lol. Wish me luck. 8.30am. Going to push my luck and drive to the petrol station first. . . .
And the windscreen washer is electric, but i put the switch on the dash, and he didnt want to mess with it as he didnt know what it was for. So its literally a quick tune up and i have to do the bearing, which should be here today.
Did the bearing, and was a bit of a fiddle without a press. But got it on. Hopefully it was all correct. I did a test drive, no funny noises. And also this time, didn't need shims for the caliper to fit the pads in as before. Result. So there's the answer, the bearings need changing or pressing in properly for the cheap dropped spindles to work as intended.
MOT man trying to sort out for emissions. Lol. I have no idea what he is doing. But it is more than I can do. Hope he isn't ruining it like the last fella.
Since it went to Volksworlds garage, apart from the hosepipe being put on as a vacuum hose, awaiting a replacemet in the post i have bought online, they have also taken and swapped one of my adjustable throttle linkage rods and changed it for a non adjustable type. Very helpful indeed. . . . . i will put an ad in the wanted section for this inquiry, but does anyone have a clue where to get replacement adjustable linkage rods from?
It is ok mate if it doesn't need it then I am just wrong. Lol. If I need it I will give you a shout. Thanks for the offer
So I took carb off and checked gaskets, all fine. The nuts holding it to manifold were a bit loose. And the top of the carb screws were not dead tight. I checked the float chamber and it was not full or overflowing so can't be the float. So when I put back on I made sure everything was tightened until it really stuck. Hopefully this was the problem. And also hopefully this was causing a leak or something g somewhere thus affecting the running. Got a timing light and scale coming in the post asap I hope. Then I can get this stuff buttoned up and so out the emissions test somewhere else so it passes. On a lighter note, got one cab door waterproof membraned up today and door card is on. I think it looks cool. Need to make a trim/surround for the heating vent cut out, but not essential at present. new Speedo cable in today. Took old egr box out too from the old fuel injection set up. So if anyone needs one I have it in the garage.
