I need the bracket for the large return spring to the twin carb linkage for Solex pdsit. The bracke it a straight piece of steel bolted to the fan housing on a Type 4 engine. The large string connects from the bracket to the ferrule where the throttle cable attaches. I'm hoping someone has one they've taken off after installing aftermarket carbs. Please PM me if you have one. Thanks
Never seen one. The spring always seems to be hooked onto the sound deadening on top of the engine bay!
I've only ever seen the really long springs with a straight section that are hooked onto the body just above the engine door. I've needed one of those springs ever since I got the bus.
Yes I'd say that's home made with the wrong spring ... the spring is also fitted to the linkage wrong ..plus the spring looks stronger than the OG one ..
Is it the one with the long straight section? How much would you like for it and are you going to TE?
The ones I've seen are about the same springy bit but with maybe a good 12 to 18 inches of straight wire between the hook and the spring at one end. Unless I've completely miss seen it and it's actually the spring you've pictured and they've just used a bit of wire to extend it.
Ive only seen these, if it was 12 inches longer it would have no pull on the throttle to pull it back ??
@3901mick Good to meet you at TE and thank you very much for the throttle spring, it makes a massive difference to the van and seems to have exposed the amount of slack I'd had in the cable because I've got an inch of movement on the accelerator pedal before anything actually happens to the engine. It made roundabouts on the way home quite exciting.
just made one with normal length spring and piece of gripple metal rope with adjustable slider to adjust...
