There’s a review on YouTube somewhere of those wierd guitars they’re playing on the cover. They were actually pretty good guitars according to the review.
Ah yes, but he knows I like collecting such weird and wonderful records. Especially really bad 1970's Christian Rock.
Pah! Bad Christian Rock is no challenge. A rare and educated collection would be good Christian Rock, now that's challenge...
Nice. I believe it's called "Outside Music" as a genre. Music that has no sense of tuning, harmony, melody, meter or even any vague sense of what key you're in
It reminds a little of the avant garde groups like the Residents. Makes ne suspect the Shaggs apparent badness is more by design that real inability to play a tune. Have to say though, I like them in small doses.
Hmm. I don't think so. They don't seem to notice that their guitars aren't in the best state of tune, and they don't seem to have any sense of rhythm at all - the drummer sounds like she's playing a different song entirely. More like little kids who sing to you, I think. It's just one long melody that goes nowhere. PS Worth finding their story on t'internet. Their Dad was convinced they were going to be famous, took them out of school and forced them to play. Quite sad, really.
