Can someone please confirm the wiring for the horn. The button goes to the wire that goes through the column - what doe this wire connect to at the other end ? I know there is a tang on the outer column which connects to a wire which goes off to the horn, but I am puzzled with wire that comes out of the middle of the column? I do have wiring diagrams just dont really help
Depending what year as I think they vary a bit, my 73 and 74 it goes onto one of the bolts on the steering box flange,
It should be similar to this. Incidentally - It doesn't matter which way around the horn itself is wired. It has a permanent live feed that comes from the fuse board ( some through key others not) then the wire from the horn push ( earth ) goes on the other terminal.
Thanks that's really helpful. The answer is that the wire goes to a loop connector which fixes to one of the four bolts on the rubber donut.
Make sure that the wire on tag B is really flat against the "dome" or the bolt on the bottom of the column will touch it. The horn will beep precisely once at random as it touches as you steer. Then it will fall silent.... forever. The wire gets ripped off by the bolt. I know. Mine is like that
