That was a reality check. If you know what you are looking at in great detail, there are still bargains to be had at not all that much more than your budget. They do exist, but finding one will be luck. Some people do not have a clue and maybe will sell for way less than the worth. I was chatting to someone today as I was washing mine who ventured that they are really expensive these days, maybe £5-6K for a really good one. You need someone like that who has one to sell.
Look at as many as possible - even on ebay - get a feel for prices and test yourself to spot the turkeys. check the mot histories, look at prices of parts you might need to give you an idea - we’re in a world where an engine lid striker plate costs £35+, cab doors are hundreds. If you can find a rust free RHD slider, don’t tell anyone on here. Anything is restorable if you have the space, time and ability, or have just had an amazing day at the nags. I get the impression there’s some people desperate to sell but are so far in, their asking prices become absurd. Be prepared to walk away… That’s all I got man. Exciting though, enjoy!
Hahah 100% . All info is good good. Problem is the window I have for shopping (northern Ireland - ROI) is much smaller than being mainland GB. Talking more £££ to then get to me from GB. Do really appreciate the info though!! I’ll send you a pic when I get one bought
I worked abroad in California for just over a year. Drove a LHD out there, was no issue.. can’t see it being much more difficult over here. Certainly open to LHD
You know the craic; really really exciting experience for sure Thanks mate - Really appreciate the time taken to write

Full of. Filler and hiding quite a few nasty surprises once those bubbly bits are investigated Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
If be looking at left hand rive USA import buses for something that is less rusty Sent from my Pixel 4 using Tapatalk
I think that's a rather harsh assessment for a bus that was restored 11 years ago as the advert claims.
from what i can see, I’m sure bidding will inevitably go considerably higher but nevertheless still think super, super nice van. Quite a few like this in a similar sort off price change. Was worried about the shiny looking paint job and as pkrboo mentions it does look like it’s hiding a few surprises really enjoying this hunting though
Yes, he's right, it was an amateur resto, the door gaps in the same pic - too big, panels not the right shape or lined up properly, it would be a job to sort it out. Better to find one that's rustier but unmolested IMO because you'd start replacing panels on that one and nothing would line up.
