hi so I have mentioned before about homecamper.com which is like air bb for camping in peoples private residences So last night we stayed in Sorbas Spain about 2 hrs from Granada and found a wonderful spot all for 27 euros a night with views that are incredible, lovely clean shower toilet, washing machine and swimming pool and the luxury of being in a very exclusive spot for literally nothing. Just down the road from Texas Hollywood where the Clint Eastwood trilogy good bad and ugly, fistfull of dollars and few dollars more amongst many other great westerns filmed. This place stood out and we camped overlooking horses and mountains and the people were fantastic. And to top it off they have a fully equipped garage with a German mechanic to help with any servicing whilst you stop there - idilic! anyway for those interested here is the link to this property https://www.homecamper.com/land/39772 drive to Granada afterwards today was eventful - lots of steep climbs on the Sierra mountain range. Hot weather 37c and headwinds - anyway we made it and now sitting in my chair with a beer typing this
It's is an amazing part of the world. I stayed just down the road from your stop many years ago, not in the camper but in a German couple's house who do motorcycle and paragliding holidays. Amazing area, the only official desert in Europe. The film locations area great aren't they . Did you get to see the film set of Exodus (2014 version)? I went paragliding over there and very nearly didn't make it back after a rather painful botched takeoff I hope you have a fab time in Grenada, one of my favourite cities.
home camper operates around Europe and uk but mainly in France but is a growing company and more countries / residents are embracing it - we have used it extensively in France Germany and a few in Spain so far and have had a great experience
Sounds great @DamonW , good shout on the website. we used to live half an hour from Sorbas in Los Gallardos, tho we never visited the film sets! We have been round the race track at Tabernas courtesy of a friend who was in Radical Racing and took us round in his car on practice day. @Pedro del monkeybike is just nearby too Don’t forget your hat in Granada! I got mild sunstroke there once visiting the Alhambra when it was scorchio. Have a fab time
Thanks - I have become one with my hat whether in the sea pool van or walking on land I mainly remember to take it off when sleeping but not always
Excellent Sorbas produces five million metric tonnes of gypsum a year and that is what is transported in the bulkers you see on the road ,it’s taken to the port of Garrucha and shipped all over the world, Also Jamiroquai Made several video’s around Tabernas and Cabo de gata Cosmic Girl White knuckle ride Blue skies Cloud 9 All what take in the beautiful landscape of the Only natural dessert in Europe.
My mum used to live on same street in horsendon bucks as JK and knew him well - lots of nice cars in his pad! He had the huge place at the end of a dead end road
