Surely the only really necessary things with fresh donuts would be a napkin to mop up spillages, and some form of oral protection to guard against third degree jam burns?
I think the intention is that the lubrication that helps you insert the donuts, vanishes once you have got them in place. So all the suspension work is done by twisting the rubber which is firmly gripped both sides without it slipping. If it slips it squeaks. So talc or nothing.
You're forgetting the Breville cheese toastie you make after staggering back from the pub. It heats the cheese to 3,000*C, hotter than the surface of the Sun. You wake up with no skin in the inside of your mouth
Fantastic,, I’ve never liked so many posts in one thread and remind me when you see me to tell my jam doughnuts story, it’s too visual for here. Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,,,,,AND it’s not rude
Hmm, have you ever staggered back from the pub with a hankering for a fried egg sandwich, and then spent about an hour trying to fry the last egg in the fridge? The last egg that for some reason your mum has taken from its shell and put in a tub......almost like the last single apricot from a tin. (not me, a friend)
Probably Mike, probably. But when your 19 and had more than your fair share of beer and whiskey chasers, lateral thinking is low on the brains priority list, it's more concerned about unexpected bodily functions.
BTW has anyone tried hair spray. I've used it to put on bike handle bar grips. Worked a treat but it's not long lasting so obviously you need to be quick. Could always give a squirt every now and then I suppose whilst fettling... .
The stuff we used for pulling rubber sleeving over wiring was called Hellerine - a mixture of vegetable oils that evaporates eventually. "Hellerine lubricant Hellerine is a proven lubricant for plastics and rubber grommets. Hellerine lubricant makes it possible to pull on tightly fitting plastic mouldings, grommets or other elastic outer sheaths. Hellerine is non-colouring." snurf snurf. Actually reading the MSDS its 6% ethanol and 94% castor oil. - https://docs.rs-online.com/2e76/0900766b81486f12.pdf
Am i wrong but i think "talcum powder " isn talcum powder anymore , and not for the last five or so years. I seem to remember that in particular Johnsons baby talk was linked to cancer. I believe that talcum powder as we know it doesnt exist anymore , but i may be wrong
Could well be, the concern was the fact that the talc is naturally found with asbestos contamination, and as usual had been known to be a hazard for over 70 years but it was covered up.. https://www.asbestos.com/products/talcum-powder/ Meanwhile nobody yet fully knows the effect of using and wearing out carbon fibre in EV tyres..
Well one side is done using baby powder, which I think is made from grinding up babies. so if there’s a problem I’m blaming you lot.
