On my bus you can most easily see the connector between the windscreen wiper and the wiper switch on the column if you lift out the instrument cluster.
……. and another thing, my motor attached to the wiper mechanism with a flat on the spindle, not splines.
And how much fun did you and @pkrboo have showing me how easy it was on a lhd later model the next day??? Bastards.
20 minutes mate, , it was quite stressful, I had to get my own beer Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using Tapatalk
Back together, now have intermittent wipe, unfortunately still only the one speed ….. well two if you count off. All wiring looks ok and it wipes in both fast and slow positions…. just at the same speed.
I would get your meter out and check for +12 on the motor fast & slow connections with the switch in the appropriate position. Wiring error (or dodgy switch)?
? …. so your suggestion is check motor runs at both speeds by sticking 12v to the appropriate terminals and go from there.
Nothing wrong with the motor, connected “fast” wire to 12v permanent live and it went back and forth like the clappers. So it seems it the column switch/wiring at fault. Assuming that there’s actually a wire at the fast speed position on the switch, could I run a new wire to the red wire on @snotty ’s connector?
