Has anyone bought one of these yet, and if so, any good? Believe they fit into the ashtray slot but can't worth out whether that means you need to ditch the ashtray completely (which is where I store my loose change!) now I've given up the
Looks like it slots in over the ashtray drawer, but prob means u cant put anything in it. They seem expensive for what they are
It does slot in over ash tray drawer so you lose use of that. I took the plunge and am very pleased. Nice quality and it works well.
Agree I think it's £29 or something not worth more than £10 at best IMO. And then you lose the complete use of your ashtray. Can't you get some that hang over the door?
Bought with the tokens Josh gave me a while back for complaining. I've modified mine, because the bottom of it was at exactly the same height as my dogs eyes when he sits on the big X on the carpet marked 'DOG'. Now its nicely padded and still works as well. Photos tomorrow...
I prefer the look of these ones, although I don't think they're available in the UK, and still overpriced at $40
We have one and it does use the ashtray in situ and disables the use of the ashtray! the fit of ours is ok, but i don't think our ashtray is right for the van tbh! In use, it works. cups in just the right place compared to the centre tunnel tray on my Golf! The only downside is that the cup can interfere with the use of the radio and the holder makes it awkward to unlock the handbrake if you've already selected 1st gear! From an aesthetic point of view.... they're a bit chunky!
They fit perfectly, but they do stop you using the ash tray to keep change in - guess you've gotta decide which is more important I found one of those in my Bug when I imported it from Cali (a long with a bunch of other weird stuff!) and it's literally a piece of wood with two bits of gutter pipe attached - I took it out as it got in the way of the complimentary Hula Girl that came with it
I've got one similar but I made it myself & had a friend cover it for me. A lump of timber, a bit of plastic down pipe, a bit of seat belt webbing is all you need.
