But which will still be around in forty years..... I didnt touch it for 3 years due to work. Thats my excuse.
Ordered some rear quarter off-cuts to allow be to start the repair of the backend panels and chassis. A few pics of what I got: Nearside, lower panel and offside: Turns out the offside cut was from a 73 bay so couldn't use it to repair (did use bit's of metal from it though...) Started to tart them up ready for use: So, the offside cut is coming together To be continued................
A few more pics of the tart up. This is the lower engine closing panel: Working on the outside of the offside rear quarter panel: Too be continued.....
Started to cut away the nearside rear quarter to see what I would be facing: 1cm of filler : Then attacked the offside: This fell out of the cut: Luckily nothing in it Too be continued.....
Test fit of the panel: A quick repair of the chassis rail - top in the engine bay: Ground down and POR15 applied: To be continued................
Welding of the panel begins: So - that the D pillar and the chassis rail joined - just need the panels joining. To be continued........
The panels now: Chassis done: All done: Started to put filler on where some of the panels had been welded on many years ago!! Started with the nearside front arch panel: To be continued.......
Started to fill the out sill panel on the offside: Then ruptured my tendon so now in plaster so van is on hold: More or less up to speed now - hope you enjoyed the condensed version of the last 8 years
