...a runaround for winter. With the van now in the garage till Feb/March I don't want to have to walk the 500m to Tesco, the question is, do I try and get a bug with an MOT that needs doing up but will get me through to March or, do I just buy the cheapest thing out there.........
Do you want the head ache of another air-cooler? If it's just a run about I'd buy as cheap as poss with a good heater!
mk2 polo squarelight breadvan or coupe......cheap as chips and make great runabouts....bought my Mrs a breadie for £300 and its been a bastion of reliability so far.....in 4 months its only needed fuel and a fanbelt and its still a VW
In answer to all lol, Aldi is miles away, I already do 100+ miles a week on a push bike, I don't like that colour scheme and the trolley doesn't look like it holds enough beer, I'd love another air cooled. Delivery isn't free down here and the taxi company just laughed when I enquired. And I still want a bug, well actually I want a Austin heally 3000 but budget won't stretch! Now where are all the people saying "yeah get one!" ;-)
You might have got more people saying "yeah get one" if you hadn't said you wanted it just for travelling 500 metres down the road to get your shopping.
Buy a bug. Great fun when it snows too. When it gets cold wear a hat. Aircooled as your sole car for winter is hard core and you'll appreciate the bus when the sun comes out so much more Ignore the fair weather bandits, this forums starting to get a faint whiff of ******* and Werthers about it. Go for it
Thats awesome! However if had that I'd want to be testing it on roads off road in Scotland in the snow, and then I would have to buy a coat too.
Sorry all, scrub the Tesco bit, do you think I should get one if more occasionally I walk to M&S about 200 meters further on? Seriously though, dont know if I can make it through winter without anything.
I wouldnt even need to park this, could just drive on in for my shopping! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RETRO-CLA...4627271?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item41791a1747 Amazing what you can find for £500 on ebay, if the sepentine was still connected to the thames i could have got a boat to go to work in!
