  1. Welcome from Surrey - another M plate.

If its a 1600 55 is the speed at which the Boss should start screaming Slow Down or you'll blow this engine too :)

  6. I cruise at 55, have been known to overtake lorries on the dual carriageway at 60 and watch the queue build up behind me.

  8. Welcome!

55 normal here too. Though tripped one of those 'your speed 30' signs at 34mph on my speedo, so I figure I'm actually cruising at 51mph. Hey ho, the journey is invariably better than the destination!

Hello and Welcome from The Colonial Contingent :hattip:

  10. ''Twas the drivers door window winder- goes round and round but doesn't drive anything. Garage guy who cable tied the glass up for me said it was broken :(

Bizarrely it was only once the window was stuck open that the heavens opened ⛈

Does anyone know if they are easy to replace? Was going to take the bus to type 2 detectives in Cambridge for a good once over anyway!

Greetings. 55mph is normal unless you have a Subaru engine under the floor.
Just don't ask what engine oil you should use as that opens a can of worms and abuse.

  17. Hello, sorry - busy busy bee!

thats awfully kind of you, thank you, i will however leave the bus in its current state until my house sale goes through (8 months and counting!)

at which point i think ill get the type 2 detectives to give the whole thing a good going over!

as for oil, i figure an engine this old - any oil is better than no oil :D

what a nice bunch you all are :)
