Had a slight ticking last summer, from one CV that went away after giving the shafts a good wiggle.
Going to remove, and re-grease the joints....is there anything to be gained by reversing the joints...refitting the ones presently near the gearbox at the wheel ends?

If you have only worn them one way it may help. .

But unless you are 100% sure a PO has not swapped them already or you had new ones fitted:
You may find after going through the filthy job of removal and cleaning up enough to take a look that you need to replace them anyway.
Then you need new grease to regrease (moly grease comes cheaper in 500g tins from e.g. GSF) and quite often a new set of bolts after mole grip treatment ( clean the gunge out before knackering the allen head ones.. its a lot of torque for rusty Chinesium )..

After all , new good CV joints cost less than the best quality CV boots on the market. Which you will probably be replacing too...

As I've had no issues since I wiggled the driveshaft about 5k miles ago, I've got Myle boots, new bolts and grease in a kit and are going to have a look......after reading horror stories about poor quality stuff, I wanted to leave well alone other than repacking with grease.

  4. Impact driver saves rounding the bolts. Just an old school hit it with a hammer type is fine, only torqued to 25lbft.
