I've decided to sell my crew cab which I brought from the original owner in 2015. It is awesome, but I would like it to go to someone who will use it more. There is a thread on here about it and the journey to restore it. I'm looking for £18.5k Here is a summary of the work: All structural welding done and sealed and painted. It can be used as it for the commercial look, dulled down abit to look old or flatted and filled for a show look. Mechanically it is sound, as few niggles like the gear change is not so smooth to second but there is bush that needs replacing. It has been lowered with a link pin beam, Brazilian spindles and rear adjustable plates. The interior is an original Bernard Newbury done in 2016 (one of his last) and included rejoing all the seat matting and springs. The load bed is very solid, although the gates need some work on the box sections. All 3 doors are rust free replacements (yes, I managed to find a crew cab door!!) Lots of original documents from 1973 to now too. It has factory fitted deluxe windows too. Drop me a message on here or Adam.sturdy@mac.com Based in West London near Earls Court. Some photos below. I haven't taken any of underneath etc. this really needs to be seen in person for the person that is looking for a crew cab seriously.
That is one cool crew cab. Nothing I don't like about it. GLWS (though I think you'll regret it) Stirlingmoz
What does GLWS mean? Of course I'll regret it, although I've had two buses before (I have a camper which I've had for 16 years) and I am happy to have restored another bus. While I'll cry like a baby it will make me happy if someone enjoys this bus. It was already a fairytale to buy this and restore it from the scrapheap when I have seen this since I was a kid.
looks a cracker this one . If it doesn't sell ill take your door cards, seats and wheels. Good luck dude,.
Service record from new...altho go it starts to get a bit sketchy from about 1983 as that is probably when he stopped using the VW main dealer
Just went for a cruise at the weekend in the crew-cab, as had to avoid the roads over Christmas as they may have salted them. This is for sale again...well I'm in no hurry. Couple of people came to look at it. For some not enough of a project, 1 offer which needed a px. So if you know someone who is after a crew-cab please let me know.
Well, I'm keeping this puppy for now. I had some interest and viewers (and tyre kickers). I'm going to get the niggles fixed (a 'bout 2 or 3 remaining) and use her more.
I've just made exactly the same decision about my pickup, I'll be keeping it for a long time now and making it how I want it!
