The History of Tea Day reaches far back into the world’s history but can be narrowed down to a place of origin that is surprisingly precise. The intersection of Latitude 29N and Longitude 98E, a place notable as the joining of NE India, Burma, China, and Tibet. There are mythological origins as well, some of them merely interesting, and others quite gruesome. In one period in China, the Emperor had ordered that all people of his nation would boil their water before drinking it. So it came to pass that the Emperor was sitting drinking a simple cup of boiled water when leaves from a nearby tree blew into it, creating the first tea. In another tale, a man sat meditating in front of a wall for 9 years when he accidentally fell asleep. On waking he was so disgusted with his weakness that he severed his eyelids and threw them to the ground, where they sprouted into the first tea bushes. A little disturbing, perhaps, but utterly Asian in its style. Regardless of its origins (which may be in dispute) the importance of tea cannot be understated. I always thought that it came from Yorkshire Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There’s nothing like a nice cup of tea. Milk and no sugar for me please. Oh, and it has to be milk in first.
On my second of the day aready i only drink tea and beer I love tea can’t get enough Love the smell of coffee though but hate the taste
No don’t do tea , had the odd one in the past but I saw far too much addiction in my young days of aunts n uncles n mothers n fathers gasping for one when they couldn’t get to a kettle so I thought I wouldn’t .
Yorkshire Tea. That's the brew of choice at Casa Del Terrordales ( but only because I do the shopping ).
Noooo! Yorkshire Tea too strong for Southern jessies like myself! I refuse to buy it until they bring out an Oxfordshire tea.
Ms Cat you may be better off trying the weak Lancashire tea. They are always trying to copy our greatness I believe they sell it in some soft sarf shops going by the name of Waitrose
We even have the extra strong one, but Ms.T doesn't like that one what with her being a London Jessie.
Had two cups today , most unusual as i`m not that keen but enjoyed them in the heat I`ll post this to celebrate i think ...
