  1. Flatted it back

I might just use the last bit of fibreglass in the tin to raise the lowest area a touch more.

  2. That’s the last of the fibreglass gone on .
I’ll be thankful to be sanding normal filler soon

  4. They don't like dust. Bit odd as thats what they create. I've had two go pop so far. :(

  5. I think I’m going to buy a cheap one from Argos and just take it back for exchange every time it dies.

I’ve used green scotchbrite to key up the low areas and popped any air bubbles in the fibreglass
The first skim of normal filler has gone on.

Did you buy that engine on here a little while ago?

  7. I haven’t bought an engine bob.

  8. Started flatting that back

  9. Have you flatted that back too? :p

I did it about 7 or 8 times on the rear 1/4 panels on my bug. Turned out OK in the end but my hands ached for days afterwards.

  10. Yup and skimmed again

  13. I’ve asked for all my parts back
The builder told me he was sending them all back yesterday afternoon.

  14. Done and ready to build?

  15. Heads still need machining
I won’t know for sure until everything comes back.

Before you started this panel it looked very worrying but now it’s looking good.

  18. It will never be perfect but as long as it keeps the weather out and doesn’t crack I can live with that.

  19. I mixed the dregs of the filler tin with some xylene to thin it and remove The clumping
Then gave the panel a skim
Once it’s cured I’ll knock the top of it with 80 grit
Then I’ll have to wait for my delivery of new long blocks and a new tin of filler.
