Hi all, Has anyone fitted 17 inch new fuchs copies on their bus WITHOUT narrowed beam? I fancy some on my 71 crossover but I have no narrowed beam. I am down on adjusters on the front and one outer spline out back. Wondered if there would be any clearance issues and how much harsher the ride would be..wheels have 204/40/15 tyres on. Tnx. My bus..
ha ha. just read the above replies, exactly what i was going to say - looks lovely as it is - why would you put 17" fake fuchs wheels on that?
oh, and i think you may struggle to find appropriately load rated tyre in that size. most i've seen is 84 which is too low 7" wide wheel will poke more than your stock wheel (about 18mm more according to the calculator) so you'll be closer to hitting the dog leg.
I'm pretty sure 17's won't fit without a narrowed beam mate. You would probably want tubs as well. The ride will be harsh with a sidewall that low.
204/40/15 tyres on 17” rims? If you mean 205/40x17 the overall diameter would be about 6cm smaller than a standard tyre. They’d probably fit but the ride would be much harsher and the gearing of course would be lower with the smaller diameter tyre. And it’s unlikely the tyre would have sufficient load rating, especially for the rear of a bus.
you see, my approach is exactly the opposite that that ^ i don't care what other people like, i like that i have wheels on my bus that no-one else has
