Mould!

  1. Is there any kind of bathroom mastic that doesn't go mouldy after a year?

    Your suggestions please, plumbery types...

Corning 731 is the one I keep having recommended ... Not used it yet .... Regular mild bleach does the job

none really , some say mould resistant but usually means gives a year free longer .
Other option is to leave neat thick bleach on over night then wash off .

If it's really bad brown and black then maybe not but worth a try.
If you put fresh mastic on , as soon as you see it going a bit off colour that's the time to bleach it .

  5. Think I used that last time. Didn't seem to make much difference.

It’s a bit of a pig to run too, more like sikaflex. Use a dark one then it doesn’t show as much. Also, get good bathroom ventilation:)

  8. Sika is the best that I’ve found. Re-done my bathroom 3 times in 7 years and Sika has lasted by far the longest

  9. Which Sika?

There is nothing which resists mould. Mould is natural to its environment.

I’ve used this recently and it runs better than Dow Corning but is a bit more expensive:)

  18. Warm and Moist places encourage fungal growth. Keep it dry.
