A really tedious persnickety question about washers

I drive with no anti roll bar, and I grind down too-large washers with a compressed air powered die grinder because I cant be bothered to rummage around for the correct sized washer.


Sometimes I go to the Mines of Moria, mine the metal, smelt it and forge it, cut and and temper it to create m8 lock washers.


Most times I look in the box and pick the least knackered loooking circle with the right sized hole in the middle.
