Hopefully everyone has had a successful week ... I haven't even been tempted and apparently i snore less at night so the wife is happy too and there is hardly any bottles to put out for recycling its clearly win win.
I'm still going for it.. although have been having a few alcohol free beers to trick myself into thinking I'm drinking Keep it up folks!
Still 'Clean' not really tempted to cheat either but I haven't been in the company of any other reformed alcoholics either... On a plus side ... I've lost a stone in weight in the last two weeks... I know I have dubfreeze camp In February where there will be alcoholics in abundance and i will be forced to drink their poison so I conform but in all seriousness I am going to watch and reduce what I drink at home from now on ....
The good news is, if you don't drink till dubfeeze you'll be *******ed after 2 pints and not notice how awful that bar is
@Dubs and @Dazza well done ... havent tried the non alcoholic beer but I tried the non alcoholic wine and ended up pouring most down the sink! I have also lost 6lbs in weight and lost the craving for sugar in the morning. Friends are round next Friday for a Burns Night dinner ... it will be interesting being the only sober one whilst the others have too much whisky and wine.
I'm still dry, & not particularly missing it. Still doing something active every day for Mind (RED January). I took the kids to Park Run this morning, we walked most of it, as Isla's 5 year old legs weren't up for running the whole 5k! Finished in sub 50 minutes & we weren't last either! More importantly, they enjoyed the experience! There was an element of bribery/incentives though!
Good luck next Friday dude. Some alcohol free beer isn't too bad to be fair, with the exception of St Peter's "without".. I had one mouthful, then a second to make sure my tastebuds hadn't decieved me, then hastily poured the rest down the sink.. I later found a review of it on some sort of beer review website, where someone had described it as tasting like it had been brewed with a combination of his dead nans athletes foot scrapings and marmite.. I couldn't think of a better description to be honest!
not drunk alot since xmas, my beer keg is still half full.. we dont seem to drink much these days, maybe not stressed ..
I may be letting the side down later... My mother in law died this morning...been a tough time for the family the last couple of weeks and I feel there may well be a much needed drink or two on the horizon...
