Discuss. I have got a cheap set of Bluetooth headphones that I use for running.. not having wires does make them much more convenient for said purpose, but they sound Marmite. All cardboardy and flat if you will. I also have a cheapish Bluetooth soundbar that sounds rubbish as well, leaving me to suspect it's just the limitations of Bluetooth? Has anyone got a decent pair of Bluetooth headphones, that can actually give decent bass and clarity?
I’ve got a Bose sound base for the telly and that’s the mutts plus it’s Bluetooth. I’ve got a small Bluetooth Bose speaker and that’s also great sound but the volume is limited. For camping and stuff I’ve got a Bluetooth BlockRocker that is 98% as good as the Bose stuff but it is 100 watts and it’s good for about seventy hours plus it’s got a dab and it’s waterproof, I think it’s down to what you buy. Never had headphones though but should imagine that cheapo might be crappo. You could test drive some different ones or Try and borrow some decent quality ones of some ten year old, they don’t put up with no cheap crap! Ozziedog,,,,,,,,,and that’s the truth
Answered your own question with the words cheap and cheapish I reckon! I've got a Marshall Acton Bluetooth speaker in our kitchen which sounds awesome, we stream all our music to it via either PC, tablet or phone. On the other hand my Bluetooth earphones came free with my phone (a Huawei something or other) and they sound pretty good too.
Thanks for your thoughts chaps. Looks like I shouldn't write off Bluetooth just yet then... perhaps I should look out for one of those old fashioned "shop" things, where one could view actual products before purchase..
there's lots of on line reviews for this sort of thing - prob better to do some on-line research as you won't necessarily be able to test out every product unless you have a very accomodating shop (maybe john lewis might be best bet though if you want to try stuff out yourself?) as above, bose speaker is the nuts. my sennheiser headphones are pretty good too i think - not an audiophile though so might be wrong, but they sound great to my ears. I think you get what you pay for.
Yep, I did a lot of reading reviews last night, and Bose do come out well in general. Trouble is that I read so many reviews, there where a lot of conflicting information. John Lewis is a good call, just remembered that my daughter gets partner discount there as well...
Seriously, go to a John Lewis and try their range. Then see what they have marked down as discontinued or customer return red ticket. Bluetooth can be good. Cheap is cheap.
@Dubs, as you want them for running, have you considered the Aftershokz Trez Titanium wireless bone conductor headphones? They go round the back of your ears so that you can still hear traffic etc, but magically work via your bones. A few of my friends have them & love them. Also, they are allowed at races which would normally ban headphones for safety reasons.
Bose must've upped their game.... some time ago in theatre/venue land the noiseboys wouldn't touch Bose; 'no highs no lows, it's got to be Bose'. As a lampy I didn't care as long as they weren't trying to rig off my bars!
Heres a nice pair and quite cheap http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/beyerdynamic-amiron-wireless-closed-back-headphones.html
Interesting! I hadn't heard of such wizardry before.. I have just had a google and they do seem to be highly recommended. Another one for try out list.
Christ on a bike.. thats more than I have ever spent on a car I wonder if Santa is feeling flush this year..
