i ve been watching this over the last 3 weeks german s come over to fly models stukas me109 s 110 pencil bombers heinkils etc , british hurricane s spitfire s etc , over the 3 weeks they found even with model planes they still had the same problems as the real planes inexperience weather mid air colisions lack of spares bullets , at the end a hurricace done a fly by , both german and british chaps said they had the greatist respect for each other
I think the RAF and the Luftwaffe held each other in quite high esteem even back in the war. They buried each other’s pilots and crew with full military dignity whenever they could. The Red Baron was given a proper hero’s burial by us I think!
totally agree but it was so refreshing to see such different points of views come to gether , to see both sides understand what the young men of both sides went through and respected each other , more so the model flyers whole realised how difficult itwas even in miniture
Only spotted these were on yesterday!!, lucky for catch up TV I've downloaded the episodes. My eldest has just got into airfix models which has sparked an interest in all things WW2 related ....which is a nice change to his normal Xbox zombie state
There were quite a few good models at the Airshow at the weekend. However, due to the horrible weather I decided not to buy any as would have got soaked hoiking them about.
i love planes been to a few airshows ,, walking round like a rabbit caught in the headlights but i really love ww2 submarines especially german ones
