I seem to do a unplanned job of missing every England match during the word cup! The quarter final was no exception. My wife needed some much needed R n R so I suggested heading for the hills - some big hills!!!

Stopped up on LLangattock Ridge in the old Quarry car park on the Friday. Some tight hairpin bends and steep bits but you'll make it in a Bay.

Some amazing views out to Table Top, Crickhowell, and Sugar Loaf. A great sunset and a walk up on the ridge.

Saturday was spent out in the open - probably not a wise decision considering it was approx 28C!!! Parked up at Blaen y Glyn Uchaf car park - I have stopped there overnighted in the past (including in the snow!!!)

I forgot how steep the first climb up was!!

Then on out onto the tops and round Fan Y Big *snigger and up Pen Y Fan

Heather wanted a campsite stop for the night - didn't want an al fresco shower like me, so we stopped at a very busy Park Farm in LLangattock (£7 per person per night).

Sunday dinner was accompanied by some crap jazz (to be fair I don't think they had played together much), some local drinks, a walk around Abergavenny and the River Usk.

I had to be back home for a funeral and Heather had work so off home.
