So after stitching the corners it’s quite easy to stretch the covers over the boards. I found it easier to use a couple of bits of wood and clamps to pull the edges up nice and tight and adjust the material so it isn’t all wonky!

All stapled down with the edges folded over.

So onto the backrest and I’m trying to keep everything lined up as best as I can.

And then to finally get them back in the van. Thank god I put all the different screws in little packets and marked them up otherwise I’d be guessing!

And a nice little detail is the westfalia label on the back of the seat.

No. When I redid our wardrobe, one of the mods was to extend it rearward to follow the curve of the tailgate.
That way the extension hides the solar controller etc and makes a separate area for stowing a couple of 1l oil bottles.

Interior is in! I’ve been really busy with work so not had chance to do much until yesterday so pushed on and had quite a good day. Managed to get carpet and edging fitted and then on with getting the cabinets back in. They will need a clean to get them looking better. The eagle eyed out there will spot the mistake with the kitchen lid! I had to make one from scratch as the interior that came with the van was pretty awful. The lid was missing so I googled images to see how it should be made and somehow I managed miss the small front edge/panel!! 92AEC12D-D62B-4DA8-B348-8373B442C292.jpeg

A6D28264-F070-4530-B877-497F22C042ED.jpeg Onto number plates cos I just wanna drive it now!! I was going to use the clamp to bumper type brackets from the usual suspects but when I checked the description that read ‘come supplied in transit paint, will need stripping and painting’ I thought feck that and at 18 quid no way! So onto trusty eBay and 8 stainless brackets later I hatched a plan! 0783225A-3E1D-4077-A5CC-16C42E5F8490.jpeg

Reverse camera fitted and the cable run from back to front under the van. Power for the camera comes from the reversing lights. 5A33FD0D-AD80-43C6-AEBD-F036EE70C7ED.jpeg

B6290CEE-A247-40B2-B982-2B886CF48417.jpeg I thought it might be a good idea to get a usb point or two in the glove box so we can charge our mobiles out of sight. The stereo head unit also has a usb input for a iPod or similar so provision for that is needed too. I had these 3 way units from a previous vw camper so modified it by swapping the cigar socket with a stereo jack/usb socket. The meter will show leisure battery voltage..

I’ve been scratching my head for ages about where to put the satnav aerial. I’m guessing best place would be on the dash so a little nick out of the ventilation pipe and there it is! Hoping it won’t get too hot!!! AAF1D3E6-5F5C-4789-AD7E-8454584514BE.jpeg
