I have Just purchased a dipstick sender and thought I'd check the accuracy with a thermometer in some hot water with the sender. The guages are reading 130 deg c and the water is showing 90c. I would have expected the results to be a lot closer than this. Has anyone experienced similar issues?

  2. They’re not super accurate, but I’d expect better than that. Maybe 5* error. Does the sender match the gauge?

  3. My VDO ones were spot on ( surprisingly)

I've just wired them into my original vdo gauge I had out of an old Audi. Looking on the jk website the one they sell with this sender is different. Sounds like it could be the problem

Think you need the full kit - mine seams ok

  8. The senders used in audi and vw are slightly different ohm rating than the aftermarket ones. It should be stamped on the side of the gauge in small letters.

Theres a lot of info on the VDO website:
