Disaster alert. Battery explosion!!

  1. Great if this chat highlights the potential problems for bus owners. If it stops other 'acid spray booths' like mine, then that's got to be a good thing!

    As you pointed out in your first post, problems are caused by neglect, poor set up, lack of knowledge and carp kit.:thumbsup:
    There should be no reason that a balanced and well specified leisure system should cause issues on charge if it's done properly and regularly maintained.
    But, there's no need to leave a system on long term charge. Just disconnect the terminals and top up every few weeks.
    And don't mix different battery types. Different chemistries have different charging parameters.

  3. Brilliant point! Yes, I had two different makes of battery too. I've never heard that this can cause problems before. Thanks!!

    This! I had a c-tek go faulty (got a replacement under guarantee) but I still wouldn't trust it to be left on for weeks on end. Just charge up every few weeks to prevent batteries going flat.
