I think I have managed to fry my electronic ignition putting engine back in and connecting it up incorrectly. I have no spark . Ordered a new module but wondered if anyone's got any tips, distributor is a pertronix flamethrower, wondered if it would be better with an original Bosch svda so at least I could go back to points and condenser in such a situation... If I can find one Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
An original Bosch is brilliant but also 123 ignition seems to be popular but expensive. H H Ignition solutions will rebuild a Bosch SVDA for about £90 if you find one that needs a rebuild.
I have enough problems without having the fairer sex chasing me about Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
As you only need a points distributor as a spare, you could get a cheap repro off ebay for less than £50. or genuine worn out Bosch ones for refurb do turn up on ebay from time to time, search ebay and see what's around.
I think I'll keep eye open for spare in eBay and fix up pertronix.. I daren't add up how much I've spent on my van... A small fortune Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
Or about £282 from Classic Auto Elec https://www.classicautoelec.com/en/...-t1-t2-and-t3.html#/capsule_à_dépression-avec
I got mine from Holland saved on postage by picking it up https://www.123ignitionshop.com/gb/30-volkswagen
Are they really worth it? Can I bugger it up by wiring it up arse first? Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk
Never ever! I have all my receipts and they will never be added up! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't keep any of the receipts for all the bits ordered just so my wife has no excuses for buying more handbags, shoes etching..
