Firetrace Fire Suppression System

Discussion in 'Engine Gearbox' started by Obi-Wan-Jay, Jun 25, 2012.

  1. Hey. Just wondered if anyone out there has an automatic fire extinguisher fitted in their bus at all.

I defo want to get one for my new 75 Helsinki. It looks like it had an engine fire once upon a time as there are remants of black smoke visable in the rear side vents.

Anyway, at Alive n VDubbin, I came across a company called Firetrace. They were offering a 1kg system, which has a tube which basically pops over the fire area and sprays dry powder all over the engine. Looks better than the .5kg bottle ive seen around and he was offering it for £150.00

Any feedback would be welcome!

  2. There are plenty. There has been a few group buys of firetek systems, I'm sure someone will pop along and give you more advice shortly.

    I don't have one.

  4. lots of us have the firetec systems - you could wait for a group buy - but in reality you are better off just getting one.

don't think anyones has gone off yet (when needed) ... so we are all hoping they work when the fire breaks out
