Most of this is obvious so I won't do a detailed waffle.

    Prepping the arches.

First thing drill out the spot welds and remove the extra flap that would span between the bulkhead and the tub. It will clash with the bulge on the bulkhead that was built in to provide a little more foot space in microbuses I believe. It's quite thick metal so you might find something you can repair with it.

Next the step. For some reason horizontal part of a Brazilian bus floor is 10-12mm higher than the 70's buses and the slope up to the front starts further forward. I have managed to find a vertical part of a step along with a slice of the top and bottom to demonstrate this.

Sat inside a brazilian genuine arch you can see the difference, and it should be sat lower at the front where you can see it's lifted by the new arch pressing.

You need to reduce the height of the step. Re-bending is possible but difficult to do neatly. I chop a slice out near the top and reweld, but it's your bus. :D
