Damn it I knew I would miss a picture!

This repair to the rear o/s and n/s arches was done just before I painted her red oxide.

as you can see the previous repairer just welded over the crap rather than cut it out

Right update again (still not at present day) but at 2011!

So early 2011 the roof and poptop needed attention mainly a lick of paint. So I bought some RAL white and there it is :)

So while the roof paint was drying I started on the interior as she had to be ready for Glastonbury 2011!

When I started to lift the old floor underneath the thin flimsy board was a thin layer of polystyrene which was holding a lot of water!

By luck the floor was in excellent condition
    [IMG]

    So ended up like this

  9. You were very lucky with the floor dude considering the water ingress

  10. looking good any progress lately ?

Right, again it's been a while, but thought it was about time Glenda got the colour she deserved. The red oxide did it's job, but a tin of RAL red, some foam rolllers and white spirit was all that was needed. A quick rub down and a lucky non rainy weekend and...taa...daa!

I would just like to point out, I don't care about her scars where she has been welded, and wobbly panels she is what she is a camper, and she is not by any means a show and shine, but I must say the colour came out a lot better than I thought :)

  13. Not sure if I have asked this before, but do you have any pictures of the inside of the poptop and it's lifting mechanism? Mine looks the same and trying to figure it out. Nice van!

Forgot to mention there is no side supports for the roof. Just the front and rear lift mechanism which are in the pics.

  16. Thanks for that, I thought there was more to it than that! So you just push it up and they lock it up?

  17. foe

Yep as simple as that! When the bars go up they fold straight and lock, if that makes sense?

  18. I thought there was going to be springs and side rods and all sorts!

I used the Rustoleum Combi colour,

    http://combicolor.co.uk/metal-paint/combicolor.html

I used normal white spirit about 20%.......It's much better of you put on a very thin layer first, as this will stop orange peeling effect. Build up the layers. If you add it straight from the tin it will be too thick. Let me know if you need more info.
