  1. Hi all,

Loris is the name of my 73 bay. We have had him since 2010 and have been through Europe and around the Becons in him, not to mention countless trips to the south west coast!
I have some engineering experience but am a relative newb to VW's so learing as I go and enjoying every moment (apart from the breakdowns and stress of restorations!)
At the moment the old boy is in for restoration which has been a great learning process as well as a fair few face palm moments, but hey ho I hope to keep Loris long term so needed to be done.

An engineer and a old bay restoration. It could be a very expensive resto.

    Welcome Loris!

  15. Good morning from climatically changeable Chester

  16. Apologies for the massive delay in posting my resto but it been a bloomin palaver!! I'm going to try and bring my feed up to date with the past 3 years or so. Here we go.......
So many moons ago (approx 3 years) I started tripping Loris with the intention of a good clean up, maybe a bit of metal work and a re-spray..... haha how naive I was back then and possibly still may be!!!

  18. Hi, your van doesn't look at all bad judging by your pics. Some of the other restos being started on here recently are much worse in comparison.

Did you say what sort of restoration you plan to do, and have you more pics showing the underbody.

  19. Good luck. I hope it all goes well.
