Good squirt of switch cleaner

 

Cheers snotty..any recommendations on which one to get as I don't currently have any!

 

Got any meths? Alcohol (IPA)? CD cleaner? All will do the job, if the rheostat track is ok.

 

PS To check whether the track is intact, pull the leads off of terminals 58 and 58b. Stick your meter (low ohms range) on 58/58b and twiddle the knob. If the reading jumps around or shows an open circuit, the track has had it.

 

Got some meths, and also got some pre-paint solvent - will they do the same thing?

 

Use the meths, not the solvent!

 

Don't forget to take the straw out of the bottle first

If you're not worried about dimming the dash lights, connect them to the side light feed on the headlamp switch so they come on with the lights.
