I've just had my V5 returned and changed to Historic vehicle. I can't remember when it was eligible for the historic vehicle class , possibly getting on for a year now, but I've been too lazy to do it... Am I right in thinking I get a refund for some if not all the tax paid since its eligibility? I've been direct debit , if I am due a refund - do they send a cheque?
Yes ,when I did mine they make the check out to the registered keeper. The wife spent it ,surprise surprise.
Was the refund for the months you'd paid previously or for months remaining on tax you'd paid in full up front ?
They refund from the date you applied for "historic vehicle", not from the date you coukd have applied.
As I was paying a monthly direct debit I don't assume I'll get anything backdated so won't be getting too excited
