Since i got my heating sorted the other day ( turned it on ) i have been thinking about insulating the piping to help retain the warmth created at the back end of the vehicle , since it travels such a distance it can loose a lot of heat before reaching the front where you want it in cold conditions .

So a trip to Band q saw me buy a roll off heat reflective aluminium insulation for £12.99 and a roll of silver metal tape for a fiver .

it isn't a difficult job but you do have to crawl beneath your van , make sure you take the tools with you as its a devil getting in and and out .

i got a pair of scissors because that's all that i needed for the job and began

i unleashed the main pipe and wrapped it -

i then began on the smaller piping at the back -

This bit was a bit fiddly but worth it i hope , i will let you know how it performs .

i have loads left on the roll might bring it to teckenders if anyone wants to do the same :)

works well - i have a steady flow of warm air coming into the window vents but nothing around my feet , just as warm in the cold weather as warm weather , can't figure out why i can't direct heat to my feet though ?

I have a spare totem if your missing the guts out of your one. You need to have a look down the pipe/or up the pipe to see if it has the flap inside.

No flap equals no restriction which means the easiset path for the air is up to the dash, but some should still find its way out by your feet. When you operate the lever on the side of the totem manually, pull towards the gearstick should bypass the footwell vents, push away diverts to the footwell, the lever on the totem should have a return spring so if the cable snaps heat should go to your feet. You will know if you have a flap as you will hear it clacking about when you play with the lever. :)

you could try taping up the dash vents temporarily and see if the air comes out at your feet
