  1. That looks great, and so much lighter, definitely going to do it.

    Your bus; your choice.
If you've got space, keep the original if you're worried about it devaluing the bus.

Knew that feeling very well :D

Our bus did have a special convex mirror fitted to the offside which helped a bit mind.

  4. It’s got a Subaru engine so probably already de valued it so may aswell Carry on

I didn't have the luxury of choice, mine had nothing inside.....dashboard steering wheel and then nothing.
Now have a useable van with more than enough storage...and it's right for my requirements.

Personally, I think the scooby conversions look right at home in the back of a bay and I also enjoy looking at the different non-stock interiors, to me the individuality is what owning a bus is all about.

That said, I do like some of the original interiors, especially if they are unmolestered.

At the end of the day though, your bus, tailor it to suit your needs :D

  14. I was a bit worried about devaluing it but I think it’s more important to have a bus that suits your needs. I love a complete original but most people have modified there’s in some way. If they were all the same it would be a bit boring.

  15. Mine was completed "molestered" to bits by pesky californian squirrels  so no qualms about pulling it out and making something better. Still managed to get good money selling the remains..

Majors is solid, no damage to the frameworks but the laminate is cracked. I do hope to refurbish it :)

I’ve only got a bed in mine and no cooking etc facilities. The best thing was to swap a 3/4 bed for a full width as it makes for much better sleep.

I had s Devon for a while and sold that as it felt too cramped and full of furniture.

    I like a big floor space .

  20. Well said
I can appreciate a nice original van but there comes a point where it's no longer practical to keep said interior standard due to wear and tear over 40 + years and however many owners .
Over the last 15 years T2's have become increasingly more 'precious' , often for financial reasons .
Devaluation is a major issue with some owners and I really don't get it as I see the van as a camper to be enjoyed as such ...
    And , no , it hasn't got a name
