  1. Slow down!!

  2. Will do come winter....... first priority and sapping my funds is repairing the damage some utter arse did last week...... left me a nice scrape to the metal down the drivers door.

  7. All that effort and same mpg almost as an original bay and almost same speed as my type 4 two litre can give, maybe I will stick with the air cooled lump and admire the views up hill, however just fitted a 4 litre V8 into my t25 so not adverse to a hybrid
    Good luck

Each to their own but don’t try and convince yourself they’re comparable. They’re not.

Unless you’re trying to convince yourself that it's not modified and it can be MOT exempt.:D

I’m not. Mine will be MOT’d regardless

  11. They are a world apart..... top cruising speeds don’t tell the story cross country. All the lost time trying to get up to speed and the ability to overtake and continue cruising at 65-70 uphill. Much faster than 70 however and the chassis shows its age and it feels unsafe / or tiring keeping it safe.

  13. Each to their own I say and it’s ones decision to make so enjoy, all I was saying is an air cooled engine in my opinion is suited to a bay especially when I can get 80 out of mine , not that I will ever do that again

  14. How's the coolant temps?

Do I remember correctly that you have an extra electric water pump?

  15. No extra pump.... although it did come with one. Sits at 88 on the motorway. Sat in traffic the temp will rise slowly over about twenty mins in stop start to 94 until the fan kicks in and brings it back down to 88. It’s very stable really.

  16. Hmm mine sits a bit higher than that. 93 ish

  17. Have you got your RJES radiator pack mounted directly to the chassis rails? I have shimmed mine to hang lower by about an inch to increase the airflow.

  18. Hmm interesting idea. Got any pics

  19. Not to hand essentially I have used a stack of washers at each mounting point to lower it down on the bolts. It doesn’t cause any clearance issues but does put it more into the airflow and opens up the flow out of the upper side of the radiator........ my floor doesn’t get so warm any more.
