Greetings from an unusually snowy Teddington .. I did most of my own work until i moved from Leeds to `That London` where i had nowhere to even change a bulb so had to rely on local - supposed - specialists . I now have use of a lockup and am just discovering the extent of their skills , if you can do it yourself have a go . It can`t be any worse than the clowns that have been let loose on mine for the last 5 years .... Saying that , a GOOD local mechanic is priceless should one turn up ....
Hi from Rotherham......there is a specialist on a small trading estate near Alexandria, just below Loch Lomond....the RAC towed me there from the Highlands, when my engine gave up the ghost....he looked busy ( usually a good sign ) and gave a very accuate diagnosis ( he said it was f#ck#d ).
Welcome aboard, lovely part of Scotland you in, I'm over on the other side in Fife. Have a local mechanic here who deals with lots of the local clubs vans in Burntisland, Porte Auto. Then you have Paul at Aircooled Engines in Alloa (www.aircooledengines.co.uk) if your needing engine work. But of course your biggest resource is this helpful group right here, they've bailed me out of trouble loads of times (thanks all)
Welcome to living the life of luxury in a bay. My advice...change all the seals...on the west coast those Cali ones will leak worse than a tipsy Lass from Crianlarich (Listened to best of Saxon CD set just after Xmas. Sadly, I knew all the words ....got to be 35 years since I last heard them!)
There's nowt wrong wi' Barnsley. It's the only place I've ever been to where a drunk fell over the bonnet of my car at eleven in the morning.
