This recently removed from a bus that mostly went to the scrappy.
(See "is this £15,000 worth of work" on Vzi)
Going for a 1776 so this is surplus and needs a rebuild.
    Endfloat is estimated at 0.4mm
    Compression test:
    1) 140
    2) 120
    3) 60
    4) 80
    Old Vege recon unit
(No tin as using for the 1776)
    £200 collected from Gloucestershire :)

At the moment it's a bit of a self-imposed cliffhanger as I keep coming up with new ways to save us the legal route ...
He's got until the 11th to acknowledge my latest email and then his wife gets a letter telling the whole sorry tale, which I suspect she hasn't heard except in a biased lop sided way maybe ... She MAY talk some sense into him.
If not then it's county court (and probably then high court) here we come!

  7. Am I right in my assumption what you have in the vid is £15000 worth of work you’ve paid so far

    Afraid so!
Took a long time for the penny to drop because it was a long running secret project being done "remotely" (so parcelling out chunks of money over a few years and relying on photos for"progress") ... not to mention swallowing the initial sales patter hook line and sinker
The video doesn't show how bad it was, and how much "cutting out and sweeping up" was involved, but still, even if it had been done properly it's probably about £4000's worth at most.

Thanks ... Selling these lumps (this 1600 and a 1700 type 4 boat anchor) would make me very happy ;)
Also a nice RHD steering box, a barnacle bill gear box with the type 4 ... a rust free Dormy cross over shell project ...... You get the idea!

Oh, and a nice "lowering kit" as in heavy duty front and rear anti roll bars, and two sets of shocks (one Bilstein, one kyb) just off a bus being standardised and hardly used ...... or I could just set up a "bay just giving" page?

  14. The legal route will cost you as much money again and you may not win what you want. Have you reported this rip off to trading standards. have you made a formal complaint in writing to the person or garage setting out exactly why you feel you have a just complaint against them and stating what redress/refund you are seeking and why.

Keep everything business like and in writing and wait for a response. Keep a file of evidence and photos and records of payments you made.

Definitely no thumbs up ... Tea and sympathy though, and some sterling work on the replacement bus

Have certainly shifted away from telephone conversations.
Have certainly got records of everything.
Have certainly got steadily more formal as the months have gone by,
and there can be no doubt he knows exactly "how much and why".
Trading standards not yet in the picture though.
A formal "name and shame" on various forums and platforms is imminent ........ and not in any way that would be literally "prejudicial".
