    Have a pair of oval port type 4 heads. The ones with the larger 39mm inlet valves off of a 1700 so a simple fly cut to fit a 2ltr and you have instant power gains. Good fins, threads, no cracks. 1 exhaust stud is snapped but I will replace this before posting.
    Have just given the valves a quick relap.
    £100 collected from south Devon or will post to anywhere sensible for £10

  3. Hi I have a couple of questions
    Are these suitable for unleaded ?
    My engine is the type 4 2litre 1978 are they a straight swap ?

    Every VW air-cooled head is suitable for unleaded fuel.

    These are from a 1700 and would need to be machined to fit a 2.0l (or 1800) – easy job, any machine shop could do it. They have 39.3mm inlet valves, 2.0l heads will have 37.5mm inlet, both have 33mm exhaust valves.
