Keep going para, don’t listen to those lot, a bit finished is a bit closer to completely finished

  2. After all the recent snow and rain I’ve gone out to the van today
To find waters still getting in the front panel somewhere
Its *******ing me off as I thought I’d got it all sorted.

  3. i suspect that leaked when they were new!

With it being sat around outside - the water is always going to find a way in somewhere.

  5. It’s the bottom of the front panel near the deformation panel.

I’ve had the hose on it for a while and there’s a tiny dribble I’ve found between the lhs indicator and the airbox

It’s got to either be coming from the windscreen seal or the wiper spindle seal

  6. I’ve traced it down to the wiper spindle seals
I replaced them with new ones in September and they have cracked allready

I think I’m going to have to come to terms with the fact it’s always going to let some water in.

I’m thinking of drilling a couple of drain holes and slathering the bottom panel in cavity wax.
That way at least it can get back out.

  7. Ours leaks somewhere in around there to. I changed the spindle seals but can't remember if it stopped it or not!

  8. This morning I slathered the bottom panel in cavity wax aswell as daubing it into any join I could on the front panel.
Then I warmed it with the heat gun to help it creep between the joints.
I now stink of dynax s50[IMG]

Jesus. That's some depth of filler.
What the hell happened to the panel?

  11. That's horrendous  you will need to get that all off as soon as and clean and protect the panel underneath.

  12. Oh man...

A very similar thing has happened to a friends van - the long panel, I think.

It had been run along a gate post or something in the past he found when it wax bare metalled. Only way to get it straight was to use quite a lot of filler but it has cracked and water got in and pretty much same results.

  13. The filler had cracked so I put duct tape over the crack to keep water out.
Was pulling the tape off today to replace it and the filler pulled off with it

  15. Indeed my main priority now is to clean up as much of that corrosion as I can and keep it at bay.

I’ll pick up some clean and strip discs tomorrow
And I’ve just ordered some rust treatment paint.
I’m going to do what I originally planned to do and roller paint the bus in nato green paint.
It’s not going to be pretty but at least it will protect it better than it’s current paint job.

It’s normally shiny busses that are in a state underneath
I’m going to end up with a bus that’s in great condition underneath and tatty up top.

  16. cant believe how thick that filler is, why does it have so much? was the panel that bad?

  17. I' defantly go round and pick at any more bits and at least do it all in one go

  18. New arch was fitted

  19. I don’t have the time or space to do it all in one go
It’s outside on the drive and I’ve no where else to put it to work on it.
I’m just going to have to do a panel at a time as and when Time and weather allows.
