I do love seeing people taking pride in their underside.

  4. I’ll do the best I can considering my lack of funds and the environment I’m working in

It’s not going to be a pretty van

Main priority is to stop it getting worse and keeping the weather out

If you ever come up north in your camper it would be nice to meet up
You can camp here in the bus for a night or two if you wanted

  9. Stripped the seam sealer out of the edge of the steel part that holds the sliding track cover on to find this

I’ve spent an hour tonight scraping it out with a Stanley blade and small flat blades screw driver to get it cleaned out.

Tmw I’ll use a small wire wheel on a small rotary tool to clean it out some more then I’ll keep syringing swafega metal clean and restore in it for a while.

Next stage after that will be another wire brushing heating it up with a heat gun to dry it out
then keep daubing thinned down hammerite rust paint in there

  10. @paradox - Surely it would be worth investing in a cover ??

I`m no fan but it`d certainy help ....

It’s ripped even though the seller described it as new.

I’ve got a JK one you can have. It’s just sat in my garage, hardly used.

  15. You sir a lovely man
That’s a massive help because I can then remove a door or window and leave it out for a few days.

    Thank you so much

judging by the colour of the rust, more like Corten "B" Steel, that's typical of the angel of the north :D

  18. As a professional will you stand over its weathering abilities? Para's bus not the Corten "B";)

Corten weathers really well, its a structural steel with Copper as one of its elements. That's what gives it that nice look, it will last for years. However, Para's bus needs weathering to rid the sheen & not show it off :(

  20. Trouble is it’s cold up their and at mo , the steel is getting very cold then moisture has nowhere to go trapped between two waterproof layers , good luck with that I doubt it’s jus going to be local .:(
