  1. Rust paint has arrived
But only just in one piece

  2. I’ve got the corrosion above the sliding door track cleaned up the best I can.

    To this

Then heated the area up with a heat gun to reduce the chance of moisture getting trapped in there.

I then ran a piece of cord behind the seal to lift its lip
    [IMG]

Then I built up layers of rust paint with a brush making sure plenty was flowing into the gap

Hopefully that should hold beck the corrosion and keep the weather out for the time being.
Next bit to sort it the underside of that steel pressing and the sliding door track and surrounding area.

Not sure when I’ll be able to get started on that though as we’re forcast bad weather for the next seven days☹️

  3. Para, you've sure had some Marmitee luck matey. Read the last 20 or so pages since I asked about the grey paint on your gearbox and never answered you. Was wondering about your process when painting and about what products you use. If I remember your pics went awol when you did the gearbox.

  4. Got to admire your tenacity

I have found that a Dremel using the right attachment can get into most hard to reach places. It has proved invaluable in our recent endeavours with the cutting blades being so thin.

  9. Hi Bern
    That cover has just arrived
Thank you so much for it
I owe you a few drinks when we meet up again.
Once it stops pouring down and the van dries out I’ll get it fitted.
