Durham has the 'cultured' accent - not like us pit yakkers from a few miles down the road, shame the weather wasnt a bit better for you. Worth a visit to the cathedral if you've never been.

Lovely view of Durham Prison from the top . Durham is lovely though. I don't know if you still can but we used to park at the Park and Ride, and walk in, it's pretty close.
They generally "smirk" a bit further north around the Ashington way i reckon, reminds of a joke - A lorry load of terrapins overturned just outside of Ashington, police described the scene as 'turtle mayhem'
