Rear brakes on 77 bay

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by SeanOC, Apr 19, 2019.

  1. I’m doing the rear brakes on my 77 Bay and there are not any holes in the back plate for the anti rattle clips.
    The springclip things.
Should I drill holes to fit them or just leave them without?

  5. Discontinued for a short while then reintroduced to stop brake noise.

My back plates have holes but the pins in the shoe fitting kit are too short – I probably bought them from JK.

  8. I went for everything barring the hoses (because I already had them) from Schofields so hopefully all of the other bits are tip-top!

I’ve got the short pins and the long backplate – with no pins.

  11. Original long pin, replacement long pin, short pin.

  12. Interesting. I left my pins off because they were a really tight fit but now the brakes have started to squeal.

  13. Always wondered why they deleted them on later Bays, then they reappeared on T25s...
