Rear brakes

Discussion in 'Mech Tech' started by pyroking, Jun 17, 2019.

  1. Having un-bodged one PO bodge, I think I've now found another...nowhere can I see that the handbrake lever pin should be welded to the handbrake lever.

Question: is this a problem and should I cut the pin off and replace it with a new one?

Once again, it's one thing after another :(

  3. They snapped or lost the horse-shoe clip!

  4. The clip was in place and nice and tight - so there was no apparent need...and if the clip was missing, surely the level would have fallen out at some point anyway?

  5. It wouldn't be at the top of my list of jobs! Personally I'd grind the weld so it's not so "snaggy", paint it and call it a day. As long as the pin rotates in the shoe at least it's not a problem.

  6. And hope that the PO hasn't done any other welding on your bus!!
