Has anyone got a spare one of these 'W' shaped spring clips that is missing on my bus ... or have any other idea how to get the indicators to self cancel without one. It lives under the steering wheel. Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
You shouldn’t have any difficulty getting a spring but have you got the plastic bits that the spring hooks on to?
there's one on my garage floor somewhere. It pinged off while I was fitting anew unit. Luckily I could use the one from the old unit. It won't be soon but if I see it it's yours not helping I know........
Yes, but one of them looks decidedly worn compared to the other. I'm thinking I might need to replace those also but can't imagine where to get hold of them. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hope I’m wrong but as far as I know the plastic bits are made from unobtainium and without them the self-cancelling won’t work. If you find a supplier without having to buy the whole switch let me know because I’m missing one.
I'll have a look and see if I have my old indicator stalk, I replaced mine as the plastic bits were broken Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I did have a look but couldn't find it. I'll look again when I next get a chance Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk
I just had a look at one of these. I've got a spare but I'm hanging on to it since I've already had one break. The main body of it is an I beam section of nylon which slides in a slot. With the switch unit off the bus you can prise up the metal plate and pull the piece out. I reckon with a bit of care you could cobble up a new hook.
Sorry dude, I have the van out of the garage now so I've been able to sweep the floor. I've just spent 3/4 of an hour searching nooks and crannies but no joy. I guess it will turn up when I'm not looking and you don't need it. I'll check back with you when that happens.
Yeh I might have to try that cus I'm quickly discovering that these are pretty hard to come by Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Never bin anything that comes off your van because you can generally use it to replace the bit you've replaced.
I've seen one that had been carefully drilled and a tiny self tapping screw fitted in place of the broken plastic bit.
