Morning Probably a stupid question but should there be a panel fitted to the area marked on the pic ... the bit above where the rubber fits up to Cheers
Your metal seat bulk heads have been chopped off presumably for swivel seat bases, the deluxe trim versions had vinyl trim panels on the back but mostly are just bare metal!
A bit of plastic edging trim would neaten that lip up & make it a softer edge. All vans except westfalia's had the bulkheads in place on all years I think, could be wrong. Plenty of people take them out so they can fit swivel seats though.
Our westy has the passenger bulkhead removed (Campmobile) for the swivel seat, Lowies Westy has both bulkheads as he has the units fastened to them from memory
to be fair to JK, we have bought quite a few parts from them for Major and they have been really good
I bought several thousand pounds worth of parts from JK when I rebuilt my Bay. Almost without exception their ‘JK exclusive made in England’ parts were appalling quality and most I either threw away or modified for something else. I continued to buy from JK until I discovered the pair of door scrapers they supplied were actually both for the left side. JK refused to exchange the wrong part because I’d bought them more than three months previously but the good news was that I could buy the correct part. JK didn’t get that order. I’m pleased if their quality has improved over recent years but now I will only purchase from them when there is no alternative – and there usually is.
We found very poor quality parts when we did Gusbus/4 years ago, we gave them a chance for Major when VWH/CoolAir etc had no parts we needed. I was very surprised when a, they had the parts and b, they actually fit and fit well!
As I said I’m pleased if their quality has improved but they still won’t get my orders if there is an alternative supplier.
on westys there is a rubber trim that goes on there. unfortunately the full height piece is not made any more, you can only get the piece that goes up about 2/3rds of the way.
