I know a lot of people think that sky television is a great thing, they can sit in the comfort of their armchairs and watch hundreds of football matches, but spare a thought for us footy fans who attend, take today's match because Sky want to televise 2 games our game kicks off at 1-30, Everton supporters have to travel down starting off at god knows what time, the roads will be Marmite and you can bet your life there will be some major rail work going on, Football was always about Saturday 3 o'clock KO, meeting your mates before the game, a few pints put your bet on then watch the footy, few pints afterwards, nice curry then home to watch match of the day Bloody sky television, bring back Saturday football Rant over
Because it isn't safe to let your fans drink all day in the pub before a match. I'm surprised they don't make Chelsea kick off at 9am as standard.
Couldn't agree more Barry, the good old days of all games being on Saturday at 3.00, the buzz of walking through town in your colours, a few beers in the the Red Lion beforehand, the buzz at half time and at full time of all the other results coming in and a good night out (in Watford) when we won! Don't even start me on Friday night games.
I've just googled it, it's a 1-30 KO off today becsuse Everton played in the Europa cup on Thursday, but didn't the great teams of the past your Liverpools Aston Villa Nottingham Forest played in Europe then play again on sat 3pm kick off
It irritates me when they release the fixtures. You get all excited as you can make it to a game you want to see only for it to be moved for sky/bt a week later.
Do what I do and support a rubbish 3rd division team, games being moved for the benefit of TV viewers is actually a novelty Mind you, our game against Wigan next week has been called off due to international call-ups!
that's why I love streaming for free - screw them the players and Murdoch get too much money already.
I think the worst game is when they move it to 8 pm on a Monday, on a school night how can a dad take his kids
Wont be long till we're there We played Friday evening which I quite liked as they didn't ruin my Saturday night for a change, that's why I liked it when we played Monday night, didn't ruin the weekend for me.
Bless them, they need a little rest and some time to count all the extra cash they've been given for playing two games in a week!
Im off to the game soon, 5 generations of Haynes Chelsea fans going to the match today, my dad, me , my son and my grandson and the one who started the Chelsea love affair off, my grandad looking down on us all
You got a bank loan out taking all them Bazza sure one looking down is free tho unless sky know different
Bazza just realized one of your grandads was a dirty Leeds fan - wonder if they are getting on looking down
Thank you for that, we dont talk about the Leeds connection, actually he's still going strong at 97, he hates Chelsea bless him
