I have a really exciting day ushering my wife and daughter through the busy streets and shops of nottingham.... I know I have the choice not to go but...this is my attempt at showing a little bit of interest in my wife's sterling efforts at getting ready for Christmas ...it also gives me chance to keep an eye on what she's spending.... On a plus side...I have a nice £200 john lewis voucher that I won recently to spend on ME.... I somehow get the feeling ME won't see Much of it....
I spent the day at the sheepdog trialling. Nothing like standing in the pouring rain watching a dog working a flock of sheep.
Emptying our bedroom in prep for decorating , Doing a 10k 3peaks local run for fun at 1pm, pub at approx 2.30 Back to the decorating at some time to be determined later depending how the pub goes
Nothing this morning football this afternoon to watch us lose to Chelsea then out to numb the pain with alcohol.
The only thing I yearn for at the moment is a new butty toaster ... So I will get one of those...might push the boat out and get new pillows as well
Taking five year old to tennis with three year old in tow. Then lunch provided by grandparents. Then clearing the garage so that I can put the bus into it out of the weather.
I had to fight to get the voucher... At work this time of year, any seasonal gifts from suppliers get put into a raffle pool ( those that don't go straight into my car boot anyway) and they get raffled off just before we break up for chrimbo and the proceeds go to charity - all fair and square and good fun. I won this voucher by putting a business card in a box...nowt to do with Christmas at all, the voucher was delivered this week by hand by the company that sponsored it, as soon as the guy left our office the calls wen out for me to add it to the raffle collection...seriously??? I told them to stop being silly or words to that effect..
just made some homemade veggie soup and starting to assemble my new all wood work bench. gardening this afternoon and a good walk before it gets dark. its a quiet life and I don't get sucked into the crazy Christmas shopping stuff, no fun, no point.
Replacing Bernard's bumped beetle bonnet, bumper & bumper brackets, so a lot of alliteration for me today
I’m standing in the rain, about to watch the boy play football. I’ve driven 65 miles to pick him up and a further 25 to get here. Back to London later after waiting for the daughter to finish work then to see my orrible sister where we will drink wine and play shove halfpenny.
