FOR SALE SOLD - 1973 Devon - needs finishing

Discussion in 'Late Bay Classifieds' started by salad.dodger2, Feb 8, 2018.

  1. I am reluctantly selling my 73 Devon Bay which I have owned since 2006.

I have had pretty much all the metal work done by a company called BLASTING DIE PAST, which is owned by Kank on this forum. >>>>> https://www.facebook.com/BlastingDiePast/

The engine had new heads, pistons, barrels etc from Machine7 as the spark plug repair wasn't to my liking so it was overhauled. It has driven about 250 miles since rebuild.

The vehicle sits in a semi stripped state, in primer apart from window surrounds.

Most of the work has been done really.

VIEWING IS A MUST TO SEE FOR YOURSELF, OBVIOUSLY.
It's a good, solid, honest bus and would make an excellent project.

It will need (approximately) the following to finish:

    Full Paint Job
Loom (original still in place, been hacked about)
    Window & Door rubbers
Lights - have originals but not great condition
    Pop Top roof restoration
Full interior - the overhead locker in pics has been sold <<<<<
    Engine service
Standard wheels refurbed or another set. NO EMPI 5 WHEELS <<<<

Please see pictures to understand condition of vehicle. Not in order.

  3. Thanks Barney.

I'm gutted but in a position where I've no choice. Life's kicking my butt just now.

  4. £3000 no offers

  5. That is too cheap.

Why have you dropped the price from 6k? it's only been listed a week hasn't it

If you need a quick sale you could see what happens on eBay.

I've just walked past this late bay for sale for 8k and it didn't look in good condition

    Stick it on eBay.
    £3k is rotten hulk money.
If I had the space I'd have it.

  13. Hi, I fully understand its cheap and I could get more, but I can't have it waiting around as its the only option I have to get enough money to last me and my family the 4 - 6 months whilst I sell the house and get my sh*t in order.

I don't want to sell it but I also don't want a CCJ put on us. I have exhausted every other avenue.

Let's leave it there if you will guys.

I'm feeling shockingly stressed and upset as it is. Never in my life have I experience lack of money due to illness as well as watching mum suffer with her disability that the NHS have kept us on hold for since 2015, plus the loss of her mum, my nan, who died in December.

    Thanks and much love.

I hope you get sorted @salad.dodger2. It’s a shame you’ve had to sell your van quickly. Hopefully it will help you get things sorted and ba able to relax a bit and be able to look after yourself, your mum and brother.
Good luck with everything and don’t think you need your van to join in the chat. X

  17. Always been so friendly here and no complaints at all. I am just so sad that I haven't met many of you at all and the bus is going without doing very much with it at all.

It's been a very very tough time lately, last 3 have been hell. :(

I am staying, I enjoy the chat. In fact, I should join in more, think I need it.

Will I buy another bus??.......... never say never :)

Will I restore another bus??......No sodding way
    :lol::lol:

    #muchlove
